UNIO M8 Extraction System is automated laboratory instruments for nucleic acid extraction (DNA and RNA) from various biological and food samples based on silica-coated magnetic beads for use in downstream PCR applications, for diagnostic and veterinary purposes. 

The systems use ready-to-use and prefilled kits for nucleic acid extraction, which contain all the necessary reagents for the extraction process. These prefilled kits allow working with different samples like blood, serum, plasma, swabs, sputum, BAL, cell culture, cerebrospinal fluid, and food. Extraction can be performed from various pathogens, such as viruses and bacteria.
